Class 1 2 P Activities
We have read the story of Jack and Beanstalk and then enjoyed planting our own seeds.
We have talked about what they need to grow and we are keeping a diary to check the growth of our seeds each week.
Adam Bushnall Workshop
Mrs Phillips English group had a fantastic morning working with local author, Adam Bushnall to plan a story about superheroes.
We thoroughly enjoyed working with him in the outdoor classroom to design our own superheroes and think about how they might save the world.
When we returned to the classroom we worked hard to produce some excellent writing.
Year 1 and 2 children took part in two wonderful performances of Prickly Hay.
We are very proud of them all.
The Christmas Journey
Year 2 children had a very exciting visit to Trinity Methodist Church to experience The Christmas Journey. We thoroughly enjoyed our journey through the different rooms to listen to the Christmas story and then enjoyed making Christmas crafts for the remainder of the afternoon.
Visit to Santa
We enjoyed our visit to Santa at the Town Hall. We took along letters that we had written that morning and poster them in the post box.
Visit to Shildon Railway Museum
Class 12P visited Shildon Railway Museum and had a wonderful day, taking part in craft activities, a tour of the museum, including the inside of the driver’s cab and of course a visit to the play area. We had a fantastic day and learnt a lot of interesting facts which we will now be using in our writing at school.
George Stephenson’s Rocket
We have been talking about George Stephenson and his importance in the history of the railways. We looked closely at his famous locomotive, The Rocket and then made our own with mobilo.
Class 1/2P really enjoyed taking part in an Autumn trail. We had a checklist and looked for signs of Autumn outside.
Brendan Renwick has been working with our class every Monday, teaching us songs and letting us experiment with musical instruments. We have been investigating how to make long and short sounds with instruments.
Class 1/2P had a visit from Northumbrian Water.
We talked about what people who work for Northumbrian Water might do and sorted objects in to those we were allowed to flush down the toilet and those we were not.
