To parents of 1/2R,
My name is Mr Weeks and I just wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself as a student teacher in your son/daughter’s class.
Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to support children in a number of capacities. This has included 1:1 support work, mentoring, PE teaching, and specialist SEN support at an autistic children’s charity.
I have a broad range of passions from swimming and playing the guitar to drawing and designing computer games. I also teach and regularly practice yoga after a 4-week course in India over the summer.
I am committed to instilling curiosity and excitement in my lessons and I feel this is the ideal environment for learning. From the 16th January, I will be teaching 50-60% of the curriculum under close supervision of Miss Robson over the next 4 weeks. If you have any questions, you can contact the school or catch me at home time near the side gates.
Visiting Santa – November 2016
1/2R went to visit Santa at the Town Hall today. The children all got to speak to him to tell him about their Christmas lists and he gave them all an early present for being on the nice list. The Town Hall grotto was very festive and the Christmas music had us all singing.
Super Science – November 2016
Class 1/2R took part in a science investigation to find out how to melt ice quickly. We needed to free some Lego men from blocks of ice. The children all took part in the investigation by completing an investigation board with a prediction, a method and a conclusion. We found out that the salt melted the ice quicker than wrapping it in a scarf!
2015 – 2016
Outdoor Learning – May 2016
In May we worked outside with Sam Jackson making good use of our community garden. We took part in lots of different activities including making goblin houses, building nests for the mythical firebird, pond dipping and lighting our own fires as well as lots of other exciting things. We also had a treat of hot chocolate and smores made using the fires we had lit. We had lots of fun!
