Feedback is very important to our school so that we can provide the best possible support for children with SEND.
Thank you to all the parents and carers of children with SEND that took the time to complete the SEND Parent Voice Questionnaire (November 2017).
We were delighted to hear that 100% of parents/carers agreed the following statements:
I know how my child is supported in school.
Issues raised about SEN or my child’s needs are dealt with efficiently.
My child is well cared for in school and feels they have someone to talk to if they need to.
I am able to approach staff about any concerns that I have regarding my child.
SEN Support Plans/Short Notes give a clear idea of how I can support my child at home.
90% of parents/carers agreed the following statements:
I feel part of reviewing my child’s progress, alongside staff.
My child feels safe and happy in school.
There is an inclusive ethos in the school and pupils understand each other’s needs.
The school website contains useful and essential information about SEN.
I am fully informed about how my child is progressing towards their outcomes.
I feel that my child is making good progress at school.
While the results of the questionnaire were very positive, we will be improving practice and making some positive changes based upon the feedback we received.
Some of the areas that we will be looking to improve will be:
More contact with the school SENCO, Miss Smith.
Keeping parents/carers informed about when outside agencies are visiting their child and making sure parents receive up to date reports and feedback.
Making sure that good communication between parents/carers of children with SEND and school staff happens as frequently as possible.
